APEÎARA: guia (conhecedor dos caminhos)
The name Apêiara came from one idea of creating an event that we would bring all capoeiristas together to start studying and following in a more meaningful way the good path of the Mestres of capoeira. Trying like that to understand the way the Capoeira Mestre's see and approach the art, and with his/her differences show their unique way towards life through the art, And so like that Apêiara was created with no intention of imposing our ideas but yes share and exchange the passion for the art of capoeira.
Apêiara Capoeira
The Apêiara Capoeira was founded on April 8, 2010, by Mestre Casquinha, after a wonderful journey of 10 years in London, England he chose the city of Nicosia on the island of Cyprus to set up his academy and his group.
The story begins with an email that Mestre Casquinha received from Eleni Mouskou which is a student who had trained in London with his friend Master Poncianinho, she had returned to live on the island of Cyprus where was no capoeira for her to continue her training so she then asked by email if we knew someone who'd come to Cyprus to teach capoeira.
Mestre Casquinha was going through a process of change in his life and decided to take a trip in February 2010 to Nicosia where he stayed 10 days and had done five capoeira workshops in Nicosia, those days was enough for him to enchant the people and the place. The culture is very similar to Brazil’s starting with the happiness of the people and the wonderful hot weather that makes almost all year round has led Casquinha to fall in love even more.
